Construction begins on $91M shared French-language high schools in Edmonton
Two independent schools — one public, one Catholic — will share a facility with joint gymnasium, library and career classrooms, serving 1,260 students in Grades 7–12.

Construction began Monday on a shared Francophone high school facility in Edmonton, funded by the Alberta government at $91 million.
The complex will house two distinct and independently operated schools: École l'Odyssée (public) and École l'Envolée (Catholic), each serving Grades 7 through 12. The facility will accommodate 1,260 students and feature shared amenities including a library, gymnasium and career and technology studies classrooms.
Infrastructure Minister Martin Long said in a statement that the investment reflects Alberta's growth and commitment to school infrastructure. "This investment will deliver modern, high-quality spaces and lasting value for Edmonton families while supporting jobs and fostering economic growth," he said.
The project is part of a province-wide expansion announced in July 2026, when the Alberta government announced new schools for Edmonton.
