Dog owner testifies in trial over boy's fatal mauling
Crystal MacDonald says she warned father repeatedly not to leave 11-year-old alone with her Cane Corsos
The owner of two dogs that killed an 11-year-old boy in Edmonton is testifying that she repeatedly warned the child's father not to leave him alone with her animals. Crystal MacDonald, on trial for criminal negligence causing death, told the court she had imposed stricter rules after earlier attacks and was working to get her intact Cane Corsos trained. Kache Grist, who was visiting from British Columbia for spring break in April 2024, was fatally mauled at MacDonald's Summerside home. Court has heard MacDonald and the boy's father were roommates at the time.
