Seven Edmonton companies made Time magazine's second annual ranking of Canada's best businesses, released this week.

Stantec, the engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting firm, ranked highest among the city's entries at seventh overall with a score of 92.36. The company placed 21st in employee satisfaction, fourth in sustainability transparency, and earned a "very high" revenue growth ranking. Time named Stantec Canada's most sustainable company in June 2025.

PCL Construction came in 62nd with a score of 83, placing 24th in employee satisfaction and 107th in sustainability transparency. Utility company Epcor ranked 64th with an overall score of 82.9.

Also making the top 125 were Canadian Western Bank (83rd), Aurora Cannabis (95th), Servus Credit Union (98th), and ATB Financial (102nd).

The ranking evaluated thousands of employees across financial performance and corporate sustainability practices. Time partnered with Statista to assess Canada's top 125 companies for the second year in a row.
