St. Albert-born soccer player, 18, earned spot on Tunisia's roster for 2026 World Cup after MLS debut with Vancouver Whitecaps
An 18-year-old who grew up near Edmonton will represent Tunisia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Rayan Elloumi, born in St. Albert, spent his youth soccer career with Edmonton Juventus SC and Edmonton BTB SC before joining the Vancouver Whitecaps organization nearly three years ago. After making his MLS debut in the 2025 season, Elloumi has now earned selection to Tunisia's World Cup squad. The achievement marks a significant milestone for the young player, who developed his soccer skills through Edmonton's youth leagues before moving on to professional play in Major League Soccer.
