Evolve Strength, a gym, will take up nearly 31,700 square feet of the former Safeway building at 985 Fir Street in Sherwood Park, becoming the anchor tenant in the redeveloped property.

The fitness centre will take possession November 1, 2026, with six months of buildout ahead. "Everything is ready for them to get moving," said Judee Orfino, Senior Leasing Manager at First Capital REIT, which operates the building.

Adjacent to Evolve Strength will be CEFA Early Learning, a daycare occupying approximately 12,655 square feet. CEFA took possession in June and is scheduled to open in early January 2027.

The former Safeway closed in March. Separately, L'OCA Quality Market Sherwood Park closed in spring, and seven new restaurants have been announced for a shopping plaza off Anthony Henday at Baseline Road and Broadmoor Boulevard.
