Edmonton's set for a soggy stretch. Environment Canada is forecasting 50mm to 100mm of rain over the next three days, with localized totals potentially exceeding 100mm. Sunday alone will bring 30mm to 40mm alongside northwest winds gusting to 70 km/h.

Alberta's River Forecast Centre warns that water will pool on roads and in low-lying areas. Motorists should avoid driving through flooded roadways and watch for washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts.

The wet conditions will test fans at Monday's pre-World Cup friendly, where Canada's men's team faces Uzbekistan. The nearly sold-out match at Clarke Stadium features uncovered seating, so fans should bring rain gear and warm clothing—highs of 12°C dropping to 8°C by evening. Umbrellas with pointed ends or larger than 16 inches aren't permitted.

The City of Edmonton cancelled its Connect with Our Roots event, which was kicking off Indigenous history month. A follow-up is planned for July 25. After the rain clears Wednesday, sun and mixed clouds return Thursday with highs of 20°C. A warmer, sunnier weekend follows with highs above 20°C.
