Police Issue Public Warning on Released Sex Offender

Edmonton Police Service issued a public warning Wednesday regarding the imminent release of 44-year-old Ryan White, a convicted violent sexual offender who will be living in the city.

Police say they have reasonable grounds to believe White will commit another sexual offence against someone in the community. The warning comes as part of standard protocol when high-risk offenders are released from custody.

In his previous offences, White physically and sexually victimized adult women, particularly vulnerable women including sex workers. His criminal history demonstrates a pattern of violent behaviour paired with sexual assault.

The public alert is designed to help community members identify White and take appropriate precautions. Police encourage anyone with information about White's activities or whereabouts to contact Edmonton Police Service immediately.
