Edmonton Police Service is issuing a public warning about Ryan White, 44, a violent sexual offender who will be released into the community with strict conditions and monitoring.

White has a documented history of targeting vulnerable women, including sex workers, alongside assaults on a toddler and an older woman. This is the second release notice in two years, signalling ongoing concern about his behaviour. Police have reasonable grounds to believe he will commit another sexual offence while in the community.

His court-ordered conditions are tight: he must live in a supervisor-approved residence, observe a midnight-to-5 a.m. curfew daily, cannot travel outside Edmonton without written permission, and is banned from areas where sex workers congregate. He's prohibited from consuming alcohol or drugs and must disclose his criminal history to any intimate partner.

White will be managed by EPS's behavioural assessment unit. Anyone observing potential breaches can contact police at 780-423-4567. It's a reminder that Edmonton's safety apparatus is working, even when the outcomes feel thin.
