Calgary police have charged three people with arson following a fire that destroyed a luxury car dealership in March and caused an estimated $10 million in damage.

The fire broke out around 4:45 p.m. on March 16 at the dealership in the 5500 block of 1A Street Southwest, consuming 25 luxury vehicles inside the building. Arson investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set based on evidence recovered at the scene.

After examining the site with fire investigators, reviewing CCTV footage, executing search warrants, and conducting interviews, police identified and charged three people — each with a single count of arson. Two have been remanded in custody. All three are scheduled to appear in court on June 24.

Police say there is no evidence suggesting the business owner was connected to the suspects. Anyone with information about the incident can contact Calgary police at 403-266-1234 or submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or visiting www.calgarycrimestoppers.org.
