Mylène Farmer will release her 13th studio album, Égrégore, on October 30. The announcement arrived Wednesday via her representatives at Hashtag NP, accompanied by a photograph of Farmer's face tipped back and eyes closed, hands caressing her cheeks—a portrait by photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
The album's title, "égrégore," designates a spirit of group consciousness influenced by shared desires among people united in pursuit of the same goal. Farmer has said it is her preferred word, revealing as much in a September interview with French daily Le Parisien.
The new album follows the May release of C'est à qui le tour, an electro-inflected track composed by DJ Lewis. Égrégore arrives four years after L'emprise, her last album, largely realized by Woodkid. In 2025, Farmer unveiled an unreleased track, Confession, performed at the opening of the Cannes Film Festival in tribute to American filmmaker David Lynch.
Since Maman a tort in 1984, Farmer has defined herself through corrosive and poetic lyrics, modern compositions, and visual and stage work pushed to its maximum. With more than 30 million albums sold worldwide, the artist—who cultivates media silence—remains capable of gathering generations of fans at her concerts, where her hits like Désenchantée, Libertine, Pourvu qu'elles soient douces, and XXL resonate.
