Patrick Bruel cancels entire world tour after four sexual violence accusations since June

French singer Patrick Bruel has officially cancelled his entire world tour after being accused of sexual violence in four separate cases since June, with four additional cases where he has been designated as an assisted witness.

Bruel announced the cancellation Tuesday on Instagram, saying: "J'ai profondément souhaité que cette tournée, prévue à partir d'octobre, puisse avoir lieu" ("I deeply hoped this tour, planned to start in October, could take place").

The tour was set to begin in October. Quebec dates had already been cancelled — concerts were scheduled at Montreal and Quebec City venues in November. Ticket holders had already been invited to request refunds at points of sale.

He did not explicitly reference the accusations in his Instagram post but closed with: "Je me défendrai, je me battrai pour que mon innocence soit reconnue" ("I will defend myself, I will fight so my innocence is recognized").

A new complaint was filed against Bruel last month, adding to the four sexual violence cases and four assisted-witness designations accumulated since June. Assisted witness status means authorities believe he may be implicated but have not yet made a formal charging decision.
