Café Saint-Henri has opened a specialty café on the front courtyard of Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica, relocating its flagship store from Notre-Dame Street West and marking its 10th location.

Called Le Firmament by Café Saint-Henri, the 28-square-metre café is designed to reflect the Basilica's architecture. The space reveals a nearly 200-year-old stone wall visible from inside, a design detail that grounds the café in the building's history. The café is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and serves a coffee blend created specifically for the Basilica.

The project is a partnership between The Fabrique of Notre-Dame Parish and the Montreal-based coffee roaster. A portion of proceeds supports the Basilica's ongoing restoration work.

Sébastien Grenache, president of Café Saint-Henri, said: "We're proud to be part of a project that helps preserve this historic site." Notre-Dame Basilica rector Michel Issa said the roaster was chosen for its strong ties to Montreal and reputation for quality.
