The Francos de Montréal continues through the weekend with three standout performances:

Laurent Voulzy takes the théâtre Maisonneuve stage Friday at 7:30 p.m. The French variety veteran launched his autobiography, Caché derrière, two months ago—the title drawn from his 1992 hit album of the same name. He'll perform songs from that record alongside material from across his career.

Lou-Adriane Cassidy plays MTelus Friday at 8 p.m., with opening act Lysandre. Cassidy's momentum hasn't slowed since her major outdoor concert at last year's Francos; this year she's stepping into MTelus and will play les Foufs on June 16 as well.

Kassav' closes the scène Rogers at place des Festivals Friday at 9 p.m. The guadeloupean pop legends have been performing for more than four decades. Though they lost co-founder Jacob Desvarieux, the band continues to draw crowds to dance. Regardless of Friday's weather, the plaza will be zouking.

All three shows are part of the festival's opening weekend.
