Montréal Complètement Cirque showcases 10 circus artists in competition through Saturday at the Monastery

Montréal Complètement Cirque presents Le Jugement dernier (The Last Judgment), a festival spectacle where circus artists perform successive acts across diverse disciplines and styles, with the public voting to determine the winner. The production runs through Saturday at the Monastery, located in the Concordia neighbourhood on the city's west side.
The show features 10 performances across acrobatics, aerial work, comedy, dance, and music. Highlights include Raphaëlle Pelletier, who performs backwards on her bicycle while playing guitar and singing; the Trépanier brothers, Augustin and Yohann, on a mast oscillant (swinging pole) set to music by Jean-Michel Blais; Ethan Hinshelwood on the Cyr wheel, fresh from graduating at the École nationale de cirque de Montréal; American aerialist Natalie Bednarski performing contortion in aerial silks; Spanish acrobat Elena Suárez in suspension capillaire, a discipline fusing acrobatics and dramatic dance; and jongler Dominique Bouchard, who has performed with Cirque du Soleil, the 7 Doigts, and Cirque Éloize, presenting an elevated diabolo routine.
The evening is hosted by veteran performer Joe de Paul, who engages the audience in both French and English, and features DJ Oli Page, whose presence adds humour and energy throughout. The Monastery's intimate setting provides close proximity between performers and spectators, offering a fresh perspective on the work. Four performances remain, with dates to be confirmed. The Monastery is located in the Concordia neighbourhood in western Montreal.
