Montréal now has a European-style beer spa where the water itself is the treatment.
Bains Ninkasi, located near Place-des-Arts metro station, celebrates the natural healing properties of beer ingredients as a Nordic wellness approach. Using hops, yeast, salts, clays, and malt sourced from the local brewing ecosystem, the spa creates multisensory restorative experiences grounded in actual biochemistry: hops are rich in soothing essential oils and antioxidants; brewer's yeast is high in vitamin B and proteins for hydration and skin regeneration.
The spa journey starts at $75 per person and includes a 15-minute sauna perfumed with hops, a 60-minute bath in a 39-degree oak tub infused with hops and brewer's herbs, and a 30-minute relaxation experience. Each session includes a cold bucket experience, an exfoliating pouch filled with hops of your choice, a hay bed moment, and beer-infused toiletries for showering. Your own personal beer tap serves Dieu du Ciel! during the baths, with a non-alcoholic hop tea option available.
Beyond the baths, Bains Ninkasi offers curated microbrewery flights paired with fine local chocolates, wines, and non-alcoholic beer options. Six themed tasting menus range from "Taste of Quebec" — showcasing the province's brewing heritage — to "Remarkable Brewers," highlighting women in the industry, to "Sweet Tooth" for gourmet pairings.
Whether you're seeking solo self-care, a celebration with friends, or a date night, the urban sanctuary is a genuinely novel Montréal concept — Nordic spa meets Quebec brewing.
