An Air Canada plane arriving from Los Angeles veered off a taxiway and travelled through grass after landing at Montréal-Trudeau airport on Thursday, July 9 around 4:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Air Canada said flight AC774 landed normally before sustaining a "runway excursion." The Boeing 737 MAX aircraft carried 156 passengers and six crew members, who were evacuated via buses to the terminal.

The airline says the plane will be towed to a hangar for a full inspection and detailed investigation into the cause. Montréal's airport authority, Aéroports de Montréal (ADM), activated its emergency coordination centre in response and temporarily closed the north runway to facilitate safe evacuation. The closure caused operational delays; passengers were urged to check flight status before heading to the airport.
