Singh pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death in the July 22, 2022 collision on Highway 30 near Brossard. The truck failed to slow approaching a construction zone and struck seven vehicles. Nancy Lefrançois, 42, and her 11-year-old son Loïc died in the crash. Ten others were injured.
Police believe Singh was playing an online game on his cellphone at the time. After the collision, he fled the country and was arrested in California before being returned to Canada.
