Bylo Nebylo, the company that produced and co-broadcast Seul Ensemble, has declared bankruptcy and left 66 suppliers unpaid. About forty of them are artists, designers and technicians. Published reports say the accumulated deficit is more than $2 million.

The last Seul Ensemble, in 2019, drew large crowds before the pandemic cut its run short. The new version is scheduled at Espace St-Denis from August 29 to September 12, 2026.

Journal de Québec also reports a debt figure, though its article was not accessible for this story. Co-producer Cirque Éloize said in late October it was still waiting to be paid. The trustee's list shows Éloize as the largest listed creditor. Owner Guillaume Mathieu-Thérien could not be reached for comment.

The trustee handling the file is Mathieu Roy, and creditors have a notice dated November 23, 2026.

What we're still asking

Will the August 29 run at Espace St-Denis go ahead, and who is responsible for the production now?

How will the 66 unpaid suppliers recover what they are owed from a company in insolvency?

We'll update this story as answers emerge.
