Downtown's end-of-summer reset has a date. The M.A.D. Festival — free fashion, arts, and entertainment — lands in Quartier des spectacles from Thursday, August 20 through Sunday, August 23, and organizers are calling this the biggest edition yet. Over 110 designers will show across the four days, a festival record.

The music side spans pop artist Naomi, the collective Bonne Famille, Cirque Cosmic, Jamaz, and Cherry Lena. There's also a back-to-back set from YUKI B and VIRGINIE B under the Groove Galore banner. Street-dance programming focuses on Montréal's scene, with Vicious – Sweet Technique headlining. Opening night kicks off August 20 at 5:30 p.m. with CHRONOS at Place des Festivals.

On the fashion side, expect runways featuring Maison Marie Saint-Pierre, Guillaum Chaigne, Lavender May, and Maison Préfontaine, among others. Beyond the main runways, nearly twenty visual artists set up in the Art Zone for open-air work — painting and textiles lead this year. The Pop-up Market, positioned as Québec's largest fully local open-air market, brings together over 70 Québec businesses including La Maison Pony, Hoaka Swimwear, Les Céramiques Monokiini, Another Land Nearby, and Twenty Compass.

The festival pulled more than half a million people last summer. Everything stays within a few blocks of Place-des-Arts métro, with programming running day into night. Full schedule details are coming on the festival's website.
