Two window washers hanging outside a high-rise at 1001 Robert Bourassa Boulevard in downtown Montreal were rescued Friday morning after their platform malfunctioned and became stuck about three feet above its normal position.

The Montreal fire department received the call around 7:45 a.m. Friday and deployed a rescue team that lowered crew members from the roof to secure the workers and bring them safely to ground. Fire department officials said the workers' lives were not in danger throughout the operation.
