The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and its Research Institute have launched the IMPACT Centre, a new initiative aimed at accelerating the development and adoption of healthcare innovations in Quebec. Announced Tuesday, the centre will help researchers, clinicians, and industry partners test and implement new technologies, therapies, and digital health solutions more quickly in real-world clinical settings.

The IMPACT Centre will support projects ranging from artificial intelligence applications and advanced therapies to quality improvement initiatives and operational innovations. The goal is to improve patient care, reduce healthcare costs, and strengthen Quebec's life sciences sector. The centre will provide access to clinical environments, research infrastructure, synthetic data, and commercialization support to help bring promising discoveries from the laboratory to patients faster.

MUHC leaders say the initiative will help position Quebec as a leader in healthcare innovation while creating economic opportunities and supporting job growth. The centre represents a significant step in bridging the gap between research and clinical practice in the province.
