Eligible voters in Quebec have from September 14 to October 1 to register to vote or have their address changed ahead of the October 5 provincial election. This applies to those who have moved or will move prior to September 21.
Those who need to apply to become a voter or change their address can do so online or by going to the office of your returning officer.
Several voting options exist beyond election day. For those voting outside the province, the deadline to apply is September 16. To qualify, you must have your permanent residence in Quebec for at least 12 months, intend to return to the province, and have been outside for five years or less. After registering, voters receive instructions on how to vote, a ballot paper, and three envelopes—the ballot must be received by 8 p.m. on October 5.
At-home voting is available for those unable to move for health reasons. Requests must be submitted before September 21 by contacting your returning officer by telephone, fax, or mail.
Early voting runs September 25–26 and September 29 to October 1 at returning officer offices. Advance polling stations operate September 27–28 across the province.
Three French-language leaders' debates will take place in September: September 15 (TVA Nouvelles), September 16 (Noovo Info), and September 23 (Radio-Canada). There will be no English-language debate.
