The Sûreté du Québec and Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec are running a province-wide operation until October 22 aimed at all road users, with the theme "We are all responsible for our driving."

The operation targets motorists, motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians, users of motorized mobility aids, and users of motorized personal transportation devices. "The diversity of modes of transportation on the road network is constantly evolving," said Béatrice Dorsainville, a Sûreté du Québec spokesperson. "We are talking about motorists, motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians, as well as users of motorized mobility aids and motorized personal transportation devices."

School zones and school transportation will receive special focus because children are among the most vulnerable road users. The Quebec Association of Police Directors is partnering on the initiative.

The operation aims to remind road users to respect laws and adopt safety behaviors across all transport modes. Montreal road deaths dropped last year compared to the previous five-year average, though injuries went up, according to the 2025 road report from the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec.
