Service on the STM's blue line resumed Thursday morning after an hour-long outage caused by equipment failure on the tracks between Snowdon and Parc stations. STM ran shuttle buses during the disruption to carry passengers across the affected section.
The blue line was back to normal by 8 a.m., but riders on the REM faced slower travel throughout the morning. The light-rail service reported a system-wide slowdown between Deux-Montagnes and Brossard stations in all directions.
REM adjusted frequency to every 6 minutes between Brossard and Bois-Franc, and every 13 minutes between Deux-Montagnes and Bois-Franc—well below the usual service intervals. The cause of the REM slowdown was not immediately disclosed. Commuters should plan for extra time if traveling on either system through the morning peak.
