An STM bus driver suffered a medical episode and crashed into three vehicles and two restaurant patios Wednesday, September 23, around 2:45 p.m. on Monkland Avenue between Harvard and Oxford avenues in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.
The driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Two other people were also hospitalized with minor injuries. About 20 passengers were aboard at the time of the collision. Three vehicles and the bus were towed from the scene.
Monkland Avenue reopened in both directions at 4:40 p.m., and no ongoing road closures were reported. Police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant called it a "miracle" that no pedestrians were injured.
The SPVM investigation is ongoing. This is the second bus collision affecting the Monkland corridor in recent weeks, following an earlier STM accident on the same street.
