The National Arts Centre's Kinderconcerts series is bringing a theatrical percussion experience to the Azrieli Studio next Sunday.

*The Great Rhythmobile Adventure* is a high-energy performance where musicians create elaborate choreography using unconventional instruments — balls, rackets, garbage cans, and other everyday objects. The story follows Captain Kit Crash and his mechanic Whiplash, who've swerved off the road when their super-powered Rhythmobile runs out of fuel. To restart their 4X4, they need to find the right kind of "high rhythm-rated fuel," so they hunt through the landscape gathering rhythm from unlikely sources.

The performance runs about 40 minutes with no intermission and is designed for ages 3–8. Showtimes are 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in English, with a 3 p.m. French performance. Tickets are $15 each, or $15 for anyone under 30 through the NAC's Under30 program. Subscribers get 15% off regular prices.

Arrive 40 minutes early to catch pre-concert music and an Instrument Zoo by Ottawa Suzuki Strings on the Canal Lobby Stage.

It's a chance to get kids in front of live music in a way that actually holds their attention — no sitting still required.
