SoulRhythms, a free movement and dance workshop, launches Monday, June 15, at 7 p.m. at Peter A. Herrndorf Place (1 Elgin Street) at the National Arts Centre.
Facilitated by Suzan Richards, the 45-minute session travels throughout Africa and the Caribbean, blending traditional and modern Afro-Caribbean folklore-based movement. The class is designed for all levels—no prior dance experience needed.
Each week, SoulRhythms invites participants to connect mind, body, and spirit to the celebratory rhythms of the region. The workshop is bilingual and recommended for ages 7 and up, making it accessible to families and solo participants alike.
The session is free—no tickets required. Attendees can expect an energizing, welcoming space where movement becomes a vehicle for cultural celebration and personal connection. This is the kind of session where you leave feeling lighter and more connected to your community.
