The Listros bring hard rock edge to The 27 Club Thursday
Toronto brothers Sean and Evan Listro make their Ottawa debut after eight million Spotify streams with a sound blending Nine Inch Nails and Muse.
The Listros are coming home to Ottawa—sort of. The Toronto rock duo of brothers Sean and Evan Listro spent five years busking in the ByWard Market before landing a record deal and clocking eight million streams on their breakout single "Into The Otherside."
Now they're returning to play The 27 Club on Thursday as part of a short Canadian tour, marking their first time playing outside Toronto since those busking days.
Their sound is modern rock with teeth: a blend of Nine Inch Nails' industrial edge, Muse's ambition, and hard rock influences. The brothers started writing together during the pandemic and released "Into The Otherside" in fall 2023. That single's positive reception set the direction for their full-length album, released in January, which brought together six songs all built in that harder rock vein.
"We've been rehearsing back to back each day and grinding away," Sean said during pre-tour rehearsals. "We're really excited for the show — it'll be our first time playing outside of Toronto."
The album holds together despite singles dropping across 2024 and 2025 because they all grew from the same artistic moment—the shift from busking-era acoustic Oasis vibes to the heavier direction that "Into The Otherside" opened up.
The Listros play The 27 Club Thursday night. If you've been following Ottawa's rock scene imports from Ontario—Bleeker and Texas King have both made the trip recently—this is another reminder that the city's drawing serious touring acts from the region.
