An 8-year-old girl died after two vehicles collided Sunday morning in rural Ottawa, police said.

Emergency responders arrived at Nixon Drive and Dalmeny Road in Kars-Osgoode at 11:47 a.m. on June 28 to find a pick-up truck and SUV had crashed. The child in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV's driver, a woman, suffered minor injuries. A 6-year-old in the pick-up truck was also treated for minor injuries.

Ottawa Police Service's Fatal Collision Investigation Unit is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to call 613-236-1222, extension 2345.
