Three hospitalized in serious condition after west-end collision
A truck towing a trailer and an SUV collided at Flewellyn and Ormrod roads Monday afternoon, trapping one driver who required specialized extrication.

Three people were taken to hospital in serious condition following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Flewellyn and Ormrod roads on Monday, July 13 at 1:58 p.m.
Ottawa Fire Services responded to find one vehicle on its side in a ditch and a utility trailer jackknifed against it. Two off-duty firefighters were already assessing injuries when crews arrived. The truck's driver, a man in his 60s, had his legs pinned beneath the steering wheel.
Specialized extrication tools were used to remove the truck's roof. Hydraulic tools then performed a steering wheel lift, freeing the driver at 2:45 p.m. He suffered a compound fracture and received a tourniquet to control bleeding.
The driver was taken to hospital by Lanark County paramedics in serious but stable condition. A 33-year-old woman and a man in his 70s from the SUV were also transported in serious but stable condition, the woman by Lanark paramedics and the man by Air Ornge.
