Body found in burned vehicle in Mississippi Mills under OPP investigation

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a person was found dead inside a burning vehicle in a wooded area near Mississippi Mills on Friday, September 11.
Officers from the Lanark County OPP detachment and Mississippi Mills Fire Department responded to the vehicle fire off Ramsay Concession 12 at about 5:15 p.m. The Lanark County Detachment Crime Unit is conducting the investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. The victim's identity has not been confirmed, and the cause of death is pending coroner examination. Police have not confirmed whether the fire was intentional or accidental.
