Five different Ottawa 67's players scored in a 5-2 win over the Brampton Steelheads at TD Place on Wednesday, a game the team needed after dropping two weekend losses to Kingston and falling out of the CHL Top 10.

The 67's had managed only three goals on 67 shots across those two losses, and have allowed 39 goals in 13 games this season. Wednesday's win came in front of a crowd of 7,152, a school-day attendance.

Teddy Spitznagel put Ottawa up by four early in the third period. Asked about it, he said: "I've been working all year for that. So it's good to see one fall." Coach Dave Cameron pointed to his physical game: "Physicality. That's Teddy. He's got to be physical. That's his strength."

Spencer Bowes extended his goal-scoring streak to six games and leads the league with 12 goals, tied for the top spot. Ondrej Ruml, the defenceman, has six.

Rookie goalie Noah La Gambina made 26 saves on 39 shots in his second start and first at home. Brampton's first goal came on the power play from Geno Carcone's pass to Troy Patton, and Lachlan Larmand scored the second after La Gambina gave the puck away with about nine minutes left.

Ottawa are 8-3-2 and third in the East Division. Next up is Brantford on Friday night.
