Ottawa Police Service is asking the public to help identify three individuals in connection with an assault in the ByWard Market area.

The assault occurred at about 8:45 p.m. on Friday, July 24, near George and Cumberland streets. Police have identified one individual as the suspect and are seeking two others who may have information relevant to the investigation.

The suspect is described as a Black man with black hair styled in locks and pulled back in a ponytail. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black baseball hat worn backwards, black sunglasses with gold detailing on the right side, a black T-shirt with white graphics or wording on the front and right shoulder, blue jean shorts, white socks and black shoes. Police say he was known to frequent the George Street and Cumberland Street area.

One of the other individuals was described as a White woman with a medium build wearing a black, off-the-shoulder shirt with a graphic on the front, black leggings and white shoes, and carrying a black tote bag.

The third individual was a Black man with a heavy build and short hair styled in locks who wore a white and black shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
