Shane Pinto tied the game at 1-1 with 8:27 left in the third period, seconds after a faceoff win, and Michael Amadio scored the go-ahead goal late in the period, finishing a feed from Tim Stützle, as the Ottawa Senators beat the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 at KeyBank Center on Wednesday.

Ottawa had trailed 1-0 going into the third. Stützle's play on the winner started with a poke past Buffalo defenceman Rasmus Dahlin to Fabian Zetterlund, who took a drop pass on a 3-on-2 and sent a saucer pass to Amadio. Thomas Chabot made the chip pass on the breakout that set it up. Samuel Ersson made 23 saves in net for Ottawa.

Travis Green moved Amadio onto the first line in place of Nick Cousins late in the third, after a TV timeout. Cousins had three hits in 13:19 of ice time.

The win puts Ottawa at 10-6-1. The team returns home after a five-game road trip, which it finished 2-2-1.
