Ottawa police are seeking the public's help identifying vehicles involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision on October 2, 2026.

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was struck by a dark-coloured Ford Escape at the intersection of West Hunt Club Road and Merivale Road at 5:56 a.m. The motorcyclist was transported to hospital, where she died. The Escape had damage to its right front end near the fog light area and left the scene before police arrived.

Police are also seeking the driver of a red pickup truck that was near West Hunt Club Road and Merivale Road at the time. The driver is not considered a suspect but may have witnessed the collision or recorded dash-camera footage.

The investigation is ongoing. The Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Investigation Unit asks anyone with information to call 613-236-1222, ext. 2345. Anonymous tips can be reported to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestoppers.ca. Police are requesting any dash-camera or other video footage of the collision.
