Woman rescued from 20-foot cliff fall on parkway

Paramedics and firefighters coordinated a rope rescue early Wednesday morning on the Sir George Etienne Cartier Parkway, bringing an adult woman to safety after a serious fall.

Tactical paramedics and firefighters rescued an adult woman who fell 20 feet down a cliff on the Sir George Etienne Cartier Parkway near Lisgar Road and the Rockcliffe Lookout early Wednesday morning.

Paramedics established verbal contact with the patient down the embankment at about 1:45 a.m. The fire services rope rescue team set up at the scene and coordinated with paramedics to bring her to safety at 2:31 a.m.

The woman experienced serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
