Brady Tkachuk is leaving Ottawa. The Senators traded their captain to the Florida Panthers on Sunday, sources confirmed to Sportsnet.
The Senators will receive two first-round picks in this year's draft (ninth and 25th overall), a first-round pick in 2029, and a second-round pick in 2030 for Tkachuk. The deal reunites him with his brother Matthew Tkachuk in Florida — the brothers helped Team USA win gold at this year's Olympics.
Tkachuk, 26, has two years remaining on his contract. A four-time all-star, he recorded 22 goals and 37 assists for 59 points in 60 games last season. The Senators made the playoffs for a second consecutive year but were swept by the eventual Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes in the first round.
