Canada has joined more than two dozen countries in signing a joint statement condemning Iran's apparent involvement in a planned attack on a U.S.-run military air base in England.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Monday that a suspected terror plot at RAF Fairford last month was "almost certainly" directed by Iran's Revolutionary Guard. The base hosts American bombers that have been used to strike Iran during the ongoing conflict.

The joint statement reads: "We condemn in the strongest terms Iran's use of violent attacks." Signatories include the United States, France, Germany, Australia, and Canada, with more than two dozen countries total endorsing the position.

According to the statement, "any attempt by Iran to threaten individuals on their territory through proxies is unacceptable." The specific details of the planned attack have not been disclosed in public coverage. A date for the joint statement has not been specified.
