Canada's first-ever World Cup match on home soil ended in a 1–1 tie Friday, June 12 in Toronto, after dominating much of the game against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnian midfielder Jovo Lukic opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Canadian forward Cyle Larin pulled the team level with a goal in the 78th minute, and neither side found a winner through the final whistle.

The result leaves Canada's Group B campaign wide open heading into their next fixture. Canada plays Qatar on Thursday, June 18 at 3 p.m. Pacific at BC Place in Vancouver — the second of seven World Cup matches the stadium will host during the tournament.

Vancouver is also hosting the Australia vs. Türkiye match Saturday, June 13 at 9 p.m.
