Vladislav Priadko, founder of Coffee Bike World, is documenting a cross-Canada expedition in a new YouTube series called "The Crossing," showcasing his mobile coffee business and the communities it visits.
What began as a planned 90-day journey across North America has become a proudly Canadian adventure. Priadko was refused entry to the United States after multiple border inspections despite showing evidence it was a community-based documentary, not a commercial enterprise. Rather than fight the decision, he redesigned the route to extend the Canadian leg all the way to Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, and New Brunswick.
The series captures local culture beyond coffee, with Priadko rating shawarma in every community he visits. The route is not fixed; instead, it's determined by locals he meets who direct him to festivals, landmarks, and neighborhood events. Episode 0, exploring his preparation and mission, is now live on YouTube.
Priadko's venture follows his appearance on Dragons' Den and a Canadian Coffee Association award for Small Chain Making Impact. For him, the most memorable part hasn't been scenery but people. "The people aspect of the journey is the most important," he said. "It shaped my mentality to a more positive side. I became more open to random encounters." The team is already hearing from people in locations they've visited, who found the project online after they'd moved on—giving them a chance to return and connect.
