Moose collision on Highway 40 near Champlain kills driver in sixties
A man from the Quebec City area died late Saturday after his vehicle struck a moose west of Sainte-Geneviève-de-Batiscan. A passenger was also in the vehicle.

A man in his sixties from the Quebec City area was killed in a collision with a moose on Highway 40 late Saturday night. The crash occurred around 10 p.m. at kilometre 221 near Sainte-Geneviève-de-Batiscan in the Mauricie region.
The driver was traveling westbound when his vehicle struck the animal. An adult passenger was also in the vehicle; her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to Sûreté du Québec Sergeant Frédéric Deshaies.
Investigators worked through the night to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
