Loblaw seafood products recalled nationwide over undeclared mustard allergen

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a recall Tuesday for two brands of shrimp products sold at Loblaw stores nationwide after discovering undeclared mustard in the items—a potential allergen for people with mustard sensitivity.

The recalled products are President's Choice Black Tiger Shrimp with Mild Cocktail Sauce (568g, UPC 0 60383 18048 5) with best-before dates of October 6 and 7, 2026, and SeaQuest Shrimp Ring with Mild Cocktail Sauce (454g, UPC 0 60383 18047 8) with best-before dates ranging from November 5, 2026 through July 13, 2027.

The recall is classified as class two, meaning there is a moderate risk that consuming the food could lead to short-term or non-life-threatening health problems. The CFIA is warning consumers not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the products.

Loblaw store banners affected include Provigo and Real Canadian Superstore. The CFIA has not specified how many products were sold or how many consumers may have been affected. It is also unclear whether any illnesses have been reported.
