Magnitude 7.1 earthquake shakes Venezuela, tsunami warnings issued

A powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Venezuela on Wednesday, swaying buildings and prompting evacuations in the capital city of Caracas.
The U.S. Geological Survey pinpointed the epicenter about 28 kilometres (17 miles) west of the community of Moron, located along the country's Caribbean coast, with a depth of 13 kilometres. People evacuated homes and buildings as the ground shook.
Authorities did not immediately report injuries or damages, but a tsunami potential threat was issued for Venezuela, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. An advisory was also issued for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
