A motorcyclist died after colliding with a sedan on Highway 1 west of Chase on Saturday, June 27, in the late morning.

Chase RCMP responded to the crash and found the motorcycle driver, a man in his early 60s, had sustained serious injuries. He died of his wounds at the scene. The sedan driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. No other occupants involved in the incident suffered serious injuries.

As the circumstances of the collision remain under investigation, Chase RCMP is asking any drivers between Kamloops and Chase who may have dashcam video of the motorcycle traveling eastbound on Highway 1 prior to the crash to contact investigators.

A highway lane was temporarily closed during the investigation but has since reopened. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chase RCMP at 250-679-3221, referencing file 2026-1359.
