Quebec will establish a project office to redesign a section of Route 132 on the South Shore, transforming the road from vehicle-only lanes into an urban boulevard with cycling infrastructure and public transit access.

Premier Christine Fréchette announced the plan Saturday morning in Saint-Constant. The redevelopment spans the municipalities of Saint-Constant, Sainte-Catherine, and Delson. Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility Benoit Charette said the first stage of analysis will conclude in 2027, when the project office will present estimated costs, timeline, and route options.

The office will employ urban planning specialists, engineers, and other professionals. The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake will participate as a project partner, Minister Ian Lafrenière said.
