Drop in temp, climb in vibe—Toronto, June 3rd.

Good morning. Wednesday's swung cooler—we're sitting at 14°C after yesterday's warmth, so give yourself a layer when you head out. The sun's staying strong though, UV's running high at 8, so sunscreen's still a must if you're spending time outside. Light holds till 8:54 PM, so you've got a solid fifteen and a half hours to work with.

If you're driving the 401 West this morning, give yourself extra time. There's a collision backed up at Brimley Road with the right lane and shoulder closed, and another disabled vehicle at the Avenue Road transfer causing more slowdown. Highway maintenance is also active around Dixon and Martin Grove, so the Collector's chewed up. The 511 Bathurst is detoured too—head via King West, Spadina, and Queens Quay if you're moving that way. The QEW's got a right-lane closure at the 427 as well, so if you're heading toward Fort Erie, plan accordingly.

On the local front, Wilbur Mexicana's quietly opened a second spot over in Liberty Village—solid news if tacos are your thing. There's also a beloved neighbourhood brewery back in action after a six-month closure, so that's worth tracking down when you get a chance. And if you've got kids or remember Zellers from way back, there's a new Toronto location open with toys and snacks if you're looking for that nostalgia hit.

For lunch, the weather's decent enough for a patio if you're in the mood. Temperature's a touch brisk, but nothing that kills the vibe. Beaches Brewing's got a fresh look and new menu if you're down that way, and Mailo's just opened their first North American pasta spot at CityPlace—worth a scoop if you're keen on proper Italian.

If you're looking to get out this evening, there's live music happening. Greensky Bluegrass is playing The Opera House at 7, and if you're after something different, Joe Jordan's on at The Drake at the same time. There's also Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish at the Elgin and Winter Garden if theatre's your move—matinee's at 1 PM if you want to catch it today instead. And if you're into basketball, the Hamilton Honey Badgers are playing the Edmonton Stingers at the CAA Centre at 7:30 PM.

Stay warm out there, and enjoy the light while it lasts.
