Partly cloudy, UV's running high, and the TTC's got detours — Thursday, Toronto, June 4.

Good morning. Thursday's come in mild—we're sitting at 16°C under partly cloudy skies, so a light layer's the move. The sun's staying strong though, UV's hitting 9 (that's high), so sunscreen's non-negotiable if you're spending time outside. Light holds till 8:54 PM, so you've got a solid fifteen and a half hours to work with.

If you're driving this morning, give yourself extra time on the 409. There's a collision blocking the westbound ramp at the 427, and a disabled vehicle has shut down the eastbound ramp at the 401 Collector—right lanes and shoulders are closed on both. It's going to snarl things up, so leave early or find another route if you can.

On the streetcar side, the 503 Kingston and 504 King are both running detours westbound via Church, Wellington East, and York while the TTC deals with an operational problem. If you usually take either of those lines, plan for extra travel time.

Queen's Park is taking a 21-week break amid calls for accountability—something worth keeping an eye on as things unfold. Meanwhile, the Ontario civil service is heading back to the office, though FIFA's got some exemptions in the mix. And PM Carney's unveiling the federal AI strategy here in T.O. today, so there's some bigger-picture stuff moving.

On the food front, if you've been meaning to hit up La Cubana on Ossington, they're closing that location after 13 years—good time to grab one last meal there. Fat Rabbit's burger just landed on the world's best list at 38th, if you're looking for lunch. Wilbur Mexicana's expanding into Liberty Village with a new taco spot, and if you haven't tried the viral 9mile Jamaican restaurant yet, today's decent weather for it. Beaches Brewing's also back with a refreshed look and new menu if you're in the mood for something closer to home.

This evening's got options. There's dance at Meadowvale Theatre and the Living Arts Centre if you're into that, a spring concert at Crestwood over at Meridian Arts Centre, and Alyssa Edwards at the Danforth Music Hall at 7 PM if live music's calling. If you want to start your day a bit slower, Casa Loma's running general admission all morning—solid move if you've got a spare couple hours.

Weather's decent for being out and about, so make the most of the daylight. Catch you tonight.
