Friday's here—get outside, grab a layer—Toronto, June 5.

Good morning. Friday's come in at 19°C under partly cloudy skies—grab a light layer for the morning commute and you'll be sorted. The UV's sitting at 9 (that's high), so sunscreen's the move if you're planning to be outside for a stretch. Light holds till 8:55 PM, so you've got a solid fifteen-plus hours to work with, and it's a good day for a patio if that's your Friday vibe.

If you're driving this morning, give yourself extra time on the 401—there's a collision eastbound at Leslie with two left lanes down, and another disabled vehicle westbound at Morningside taking up the right lane and shoulder. The 427 southbound on-ramp at Finch is also fully closed after a collision, so if that's your route, find another way. The QEW heading to Fort Erie is also tight around the 427 with lane and shoulder closures. The 505 Dundas is detoured eastbound via Bay, College, and Church due to a security incident, so factor that in if you're heading that direction.

Worth knowing: a new water shuttle is launching on the Toronto waterfront today—Friday's a solid day to check it out. On the food front, La Cubana's closing its thirteen-year run on Ossington, so if you've been meaning to grab one last meal there, today's a good time. Fat Rabbit's burger made the world's 38th best list, and Wilbur Mexicana's expanded with a new Liberty Village taco spot if you're hunting something fresh. Bike Share's also dropping a World Cup weekly pass, and Ontario just raised ticket-scalping fines to $25,000, so keep that in mind if you're hunting tickets to anything.

Tonight's all about live music and sports. The Jays are home at Rogers Centre at 7:07 PM against Baltimore—if baseball's your Friday night, that's your move. Luke Combs is also playing Rogers Stadium at 5:20 PM (My Kinda Saturday Night Tour), and there's theatre across the city if you're leaning that way instead. Either way, you've got light till nearly 9, so even if you're catching a show, you'll have plenty of daylight walking to and from.

Have a solid Friday. See you on the other side.
