Summer's arrived. Catch the FIFA crowds, hit Cirque, or just sit with a burger and watch the sun hang around until 9 p.m.

Long day, clear skies — get outside while you can

It's the solstice, and T.O. is giving you everything — 12°C, mainly sunny, and over 15 hours of daylight. UV's cranked to 8 (high), so if you're spending the afternoon outdoors, bring sunscreen and don't underestimate the burn. You've got until 9:03 p.m. to play with, which is basically an entire second evening.

Head downtown and you'll hit some road work around College, Orde, Sussex, and Harbord — nothing that'll wreck your day, but if you're driving, it's worth knowing. The TTC's the move anyway.

There's real stuff happening if you want structure to your Sunday. The FIFA Fan Festival is live at Fort York and the Bentway from mid-morning, and word is there was some scramble to get the Netherlands-Sweden match sorted after fans kicked up a fuss — so if you're heading down, you'll actually see the game. Casa Loma's got gardens and general admission running all day if you want something quieter. Parapan Am Aquatics is hosting a wheelchair basketball game at 3 p.m. (Niagara River Lions vs. Scarborough Shooting Stars), which is worth the scoop if that's your thing.

Food-wise, you're spoiled. If you want to sit down proper, Pasta Basta just opened at Mirvish Village — retired diplomat's doing it, which is a whole vibe. Bar32 ice cream's back in Rosedale with coffee now, so if you're in that end of the city and want something cold and smooth on a clear day, that's your spot. And yeah, there's another burger joint opening on Queen and Pape (New Era Burgers) — Leslieville's basically burger city at this point, but it's there if you're hungry.

If you want to do something with your evening, Cirque du Soleil's Luzia is under the big top, which feels right for a night this long and clear. The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre is showing the North American premiere of *Until We Meet Again* at 4 p.m. if you want something quieter. Gaurav Gupta's doing a live show at the Elgin & Winter Garden if you're in the mood for music.

Basically: the weather's holding, there's stuff to do in every direction, and you've got more hours than you usually do. Make it count.
