Alright, it's a scorcher out there. We're sitting at 26°C this morning, but it's going to feel like 32° once the sun kicks in properly—and there's a heat warning active, so plan accordingly. Smoke's drifting through the air too, so if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, maybe keep the windows closed and lean on AC. UV's maxed out at 9, so sunscreen is non-negotiable if you're spending time outside. Sun doesn't dip until 8:57 PM, so you've got a long, bright day ahead.

On the commute side, a couple things to know. There's a collision on the 401 westbound at Renforth with four lanes closed—if that's your route, give yourself extra time or find another way. Eastbound Lake Shore before the Don Roadway is also blocked off. Up north, Finch West has some work happening between Martin Grove and John Garland. Nothing catastrophic, but worth factoring in if you're heading that way.

On the local beat: the Lower Don park system is getting renamed through an Indigenous-led process, which is a meaningful shift for that whole network of trails and green space. And if you've been following the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension—yeah, that's actually moving. Station excavation is underway now, so the project's hitting real milestones. Also caught that a century-old St. Clair West apartment building just hit the market for $8.5 million; if you're curious about old Toronto real estate, that one's worth a look.

Food-wise, if you're thinking lunch or dinner, Gebang Sikdang—that's a Michelin-rated Korean spot—opens its first Canadian location here in T.O. this Friday. Worth circling for the weekend. And Mig's Sandwich Bar just opened inside Kensington Market's Supermarket if you want something hot and a little more elevated than the usual deli fare.

Tonight's got some solid live music across town if you want to get out. Poppy, Lucy Dacus, Muse—take your pick depending on what you're in the mood for. Fair warning though: with the heat and the smoke, it might be worth catching something indoors rather than battling an outdoor crowd in this weather.

Stay hydrated today. See you tonight.
